Greetings Pasadena Highlands Residents, Family Members and Friends,
Happy New Year! The last few months have been a busy time at The Highlands.
We hosted a fun Autumn Family Country Barbeque in October and had over 100 guests attend for an afternoon of food, music and fun. In October we also hosted a new family/resident orientation night and had 12 families in attendance to meet with managers and to hear about interesting services and programs we offer. This forum will be ongoing and the first meeting was very well received.
In November we hosted a cocktail and dessert reception for our new Medical Director, Dr. Salib, M.D.
Dr. Salib will advise and train our staff and consult with our care team. Dr. Salib sees several of our residents and was available during the reception to answer questions from residents and family members about his role and the benefits available to the residents and staff of The Highlands.
On November 11th we held a special ceremony to recognize those among us who bravely served our nation in the military. We awarded 51 certificates of appreciation to our male and female residents who served in WWII and the Korean War followed by a US flag ceremony hosted by the San Marino Boy Scout Troop 355. Troop 355 led us in a patriotic sing-along and they played the anthem for each branch of our services. It was fun to watch veterans from the different branches stand and sing to their anthem song.
We have launched a new resident on-boarding plan known as the Pal Program. A member of the management team is assigned to each new resident upon move-in to ensure the residents and families are oriented to the community and informed about available services and amenities.
We had a full schedule of events for the holiday season this year with our traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas brunches, the annual tree-trimming party, the resident Christmas and Hanukkah parties, the annual party residents host for employees and several concerts and Holiday caroler visits. We hope to have seen you here enjoying the Holidays for one or more of the Holiday events!
For upcoming events in the New Year, please see the Activities calendar and Community newsletters at: http://www.pasadenahighlands.net/senior-living/ca/pasadena/activities-events.
I am committed to continuously launch new ways to improve services and the quality of life for our residents. My door is always open to hear from residents, family members and friends so please don’t hesitate to call me or stop by my office anytime.
Warm regards and Happy New Year!
